About School

Our Mission is to provide a safe and disciplined learning environment that empowers all students to develop their full potential. We feel strongly about helping to build leaders that have the ability to succeed in whatever endeavor they undertake. Winning is not always the measure of success. Our students understand the "Win, win" philosophy and use it in their daily life. Common standards keep us focused on learning appropriate content and preparing our students to graduate. Last but just as importantly, setting examples for our students of meaningful and lasting relationships will go with them throughout their lifetime. Students come from several small communities which are more or less similar economic status. They are from diverse communities from around Chhaygaon, Bangaon, and Rampur development blocks. There are also students from other areas.

In a consistently safe and healthy environment, all students can become responsible, respectful, and resourceful. We believe students learn best when actively engaged in the learning process. Education is a collaborative partnership involving school, family, and community. At Grameen Jyoti Academy, we strive to build lasting relationships among students and staff that encourage open discussion and provide activities that develop our students' strengths

The genesis of the school is that it came into existence in the year 2014-15 when the board of Grameen Sahara decided to start one more step in formal education in its area of operation. There was a public demand to start a school under CBSE curriculum and as a response GJA was set up with very high motivation and expectation.

Grameen Sahara set up GJAto aim to harness the immense potential of the students by imparting true knowledge, right experiences and there by transforming them into dynamic forces for social change and development. This school builds a community which promotes the importance of shared values, where we seek to encourage a real enthusiasm for learning and a spirit for enquiry. The school was founded at the aegis of Grameen Sahara Ngo that has endeavoured to address multiple social and economic issues in the region. It is situated at a distance of 25 km west from Guwahati Airport. GJA firmly based in secular principles is a happy place, vibrant and forward-looking school in the region. The school’s commitment is to provide the very best all-round education here. At the core our belief is that every individual has talents to be discovered and nurtured and that our challenge is to develop this while preparing our students for their future beyond school.

Our vision is to develop well rounded, confident and responsible individuals who aspire to achieve their full potential. We will do this by providing a welcoming, encouraging, happy, safe, intellectual and supportive learning environment in which everyone is equal and all achievements are celebrated.

Our Mission is to provide high quality education and childcare in a safe, respectful and inclusive environment that builds a foundation for life-long learning. We work together to build a nurturing environment focused on maximising each child’s sense of wellbeing and acquisition of skills for life -long learning.

Success Inspires Success strength grows from strength. The school motto serves as a constant reminder to the school community of students and teachers that small successes will motivate the individual to strive for greater achievements.
